LEHIGH VALLEY REAL TALK RACE DIALOGUE
WednesDAY, JULY 30, 2014 10AM TO 4PM
1200 Main Street
1200 Main Street
Lehigh Valley Real Talk Race Dialogue facilitates intergroup learning by bringing together a racially diverse group of individuals to share their thoughts and emotions about race in the United States. This dialogue is part of a process to create and support individuals who desire to solve societal problems related to race by fostering authentic engagement and collective action.
The goal of this dialogue is to improve intergroup communication, intergroup understanding, and intergroup relations. While the dialogue will explore the institutional and historical factors impacting race and racial identity, this dialogue is geared towards helping each individual better understanding their own obstacles for teaching, leading, managing and communicating with racially diverse groups.
The cost for attending the dialogue is $35. The dialogue is open to adults interested in advancing their awareness, knowledge and skills in the area of intergroup relations. The registration fee also covers lunch for the day. For those unable to pay the full registration fee, please contact the event organizer to request a reduced fee at email@example.com.
Anyone interested in participating must register to participate online. During the online registration process, registrants will be asked about their social identity. It is our intention to have the dialogue comprised of an even number of people from both target and agent groups. We hope to recruit between between 12 and 18 people for the dialogue.
